What happens when three visual designers and a creative producer walk into a bar?

Elke, Charlotte, Laura and Ian founded SOAP after identifying a need for Gold Coast and Nothern NSW-based creatives to have a place to connect. Regional areas often miss out on the events held in our neigbouring major cities. So we’re bringing them closer to home.

SOAP is much bigger than the four of us.

It’s about creating a space that gives the creative community what they need.

The best way to find out?

Well, we asked them at our first event. We guided discussion to understand the locations, types of events, and types of speakers people wanted to hear from.

More than 70 creatives attended our first event, with a growing following on social media and a new Discord channel now underway to further connection.

The main takeaway? Our creative community is excited for what’s to come.

Through the insights we gained from the community, we’ve crafted three types of events that SOAP will host:

CASUAL GET TOGETHERS

SOAP SOCIAL is a way to connect with creative folk through casual nights. This includes studio visits, speed dating, parties and hands on / tactile events like still life drawing nights

PANEL EVENTS

SOAP BOX is all about collective knowledge sharing through panel events, where there is always a diverse selection of panelists from different creative industries, in varying career stages. We open up the industry, and talk about the stuff no-one ever wants to really talk about.

ALL ABOUT THE PROCESS

SOAP SHOW is a show and tell style event where we get to do a deep dive into the process. We hear a little bit about the creative’s career and work first but then we get into the good stuff — how it’s done!
